- What can I expect from Carefirst nurses?

Your requirement can be post-surgery recovery or long-term care or just short-term procedures at the comfort of your home.

Our nurse are well-trained, respectful and caring professionals. They will adhere to, manage and evaluate care protocols and keep our resident doctors updated on the patient’s progress. Carefirst nurses don’t just care, they also teach family caregivers about care procedures. - What are the different levels of nurses and how do I choose which one is appropriate for me?
-
You can choose our medical nurses with ANM, GNM or Bsc Nursing degrees. They are vastly experienced in hospital and homecare, some of them being ICU-trained. Our nursing attenders help patients with their activities of daily living and administration or oral medicines. Nursing attenders are usually effective in non-critical and long-term care patients by themselves. In critical cases however, it is advisable to have nursing attender pair up and assist an experienced medical nurse looking after the patient.
Nurses are available for 12-hour and 24-hour (stay-in) duties. Majority of our customers prefer stay-in nurses as this ensures continuity of service and reduction of infection risks.
Depending on the family situation and patient condition, sometimes male nurses are recommended. Please let us know your preference for us to arrange as per your need.
It is not necessary that all nursing assignments are of long duration. Customers may need an experienced nurse for home visit just for a single procedure like nebulization, catheterization or setting-up an IV line. These are covered under our service called short-term nursing (STN) which is only for the duration of the care procedure. A typical STN call would last an hour to a couple of hours depending on the care procedure. - What are the short term nursing or day-care procedures we may get done in home health care?
-

Patients we serve are either critically ill from an acute condition or suffering from a long-term chronic ailment. Home care has been very effective for palliative care or end of life care as well as critical cases immediately after hospital discharge. - What are the jobs that our nurses won’t be doing?
-
Our nurses are focused on patient’s physical recovery and mental wellbeing. Any work unrelated to the treatment of the patient is beyond the scope of their assignment. These include any household work like cooking or cleaning and running errands in or out of the patients residence, etc. Please talk to our nursing coordinators for more information regarding this.
- Will a home healthcare nurse be too expensive for me?
-

- Does nursing help patients to recover faster in home health care setup?

Lot of associated factors like comfort of familiar environment, home cooked food, along with proximity and supervision of family members, and zero chances of contamination or infection from other patients (as in a hospital) boosts patient’s morale.
